We Support a Better & Fairer Contest Mechanism

That is the name of a recently created Facebook Page to support the cause of promoting better run and fairer contests. 


This Facebook page is created by eMenang.com - The BEST, most comprehensive, most active Contest Portal in Malaysia. Their website and scale really impresses me. (I wish my blog could be like their portal but I think it will be near impossible). But that's not all. What makes me truly respect them is their sense of responsibility and duty towards speaking out against voting contests.


There are folks who start contest blogs to make advertising money (You can see from the way they position their ads) and there are other who try to build up a large community in order to attract paid jobs from contest organizers. Some take the opportunity to plant referral links disguised as contest links to increase their own chances of winning. Fine. Whatever. But those who start contest blogs or portals because of passion are far and few in between. 


The author of eMenang.com is definitely one of the very few who are passionate. And like me, he has spoken up against voting contest but he has gone one step further to set up a platform in Facebook dedicated "in creating a better and fairer contest mechanism. Real people, real accounts, speaking up."


I had wanted to create a platform where participants can air their views and expose the people who regularly win voting contest here but failed. So when I knew about this Facebook Page, I thought it was the best thing ever for all contest enthusiasts out there who are good sports, honest and enjoy a good challenge. Kudos to eMenang. 


Kudos also to the members of the Page who took it upon themselves to voice out against voting contests on FB pages and also write to organizers to warn them of cheating behavior.


The Facebook Page currently has more discussions on Malaysian contests and  cheaters but Singaporeans are very welcome to expose voting contests and cheaters in Singapore as well.

Seriously, why would anyone go click on comments like "Goodluck!" and other super ordinary comments? Come on, people already find it a pain to have to "Like" a page, then go "Like" the video. You think friends are so free to go click "Like" one more time at the comments?


This must be internal communications between vote exchange syndicates who just want to prove that they have contributed 382 votes, 200 votes etc to your entry lor.


I also read somewhere that when contestants exposed another who cheat, the cheater SABOTAGE others by directing fake votes to their competitors! How evil.


Gosh. I don't understand why voting contests are still going on. Why companies are so stupid. Don't they do homework, research a bit, use their brain before deciding what contest mechanics to go for? 


Worse, they don't even dare to change their mechanics even after being told of the cheating activities. For fear of antagonizing cheaters??!?!
